"We had a pleasant weekend in Cologne, but the 'Lindner hotel Dom Residence' we found rather outdated.
Our room (small windows, no view) was quite austerely decorated, which was emphasised by the uncomfortable lighting (first-generation very bright energy saving bulbs). Not a welcoming place to come 'home' to.
During our stay the elevators did not function very well: one of them was completely out of order – so we had to use the stairs to the fifth floor on more than one occasion – and the other one failed while we were inside; we were stuck for about 10 minutes.
- the beds;
- the swimming pool;
- free wifi;
- friendliness of the staff
- quality of the breakfast.
- unwelcoming atmosphere in the hotel room due to the Spartan looking furniture and bad lighting;
- the bathroom: showering in a bathtub under a too low hanging showerhead with little water pressure does not give a 'four star'-feeling;
- failing elevators."
